Travel Snippet

Sunset on Bald Head Island
One thing we Nordskis like to do to keep things interesting is to travel.  Last month, we packed our bags and took off to go down South and we headed down to North Carolina.  We got a heckofa deal on a rental car, and we were surprised when we barely fit in it!

Good thing we only had two huge suitcases and we left the kitty cat at home, not much more would fit in that cozy car.  It was fun to drive around in our oversized golf cart and parking was not a problem once!

Next, we started driving down to Bald Head Island for a lil R&R from the hustle and bustle of life.  We stopped at an attraction to caught my eye - The World's Largest Frying Pan in Rose Hill, NC.  They say it can cook 365 chickens at once!!!  Now, that is one big ol' potluck!!  I wonder what I need to do to get an invitation??  I know Chip would love to go and bring one of his many potato salads.  (He's got the Yukon Gold potato salad, the German potato salad, the red potato salad.... geez, don't get him started!)

You can't tell, but it was REALLY bright!!
We went down to Bald Head Island, a nice peaceful island with no cars - just golf carts.  Man, we tried to convince them that our lil vehicle was pretty much a golf cart, but it was a no go!  We spent a couple days on the island, driving around on our golf cart, going for walks, and such.
Chip was usually the driver.

We loved our trip and we were happy to come home to our loving little kitty cat, too!

Do you know of any good roadside attractions in Minnesota that you think the Nordskis would like??

It's Romance Time!

It's that time of year that all dem lucky ladies like me look forward to - Valentine's Day!  This year Chip just couldn't wait to surprise me with his special gift.  We had some snow over the weekend and Chip wanted to go fer a nice walk around our Saintly City

We stopped in front of these decorations.  Aren't they just so cute???  Chip and I were having a good ole time sloppin' through the snow.  Have you noticed that these Minnesota winters just aren't as bad as they used to be?  Gotta say we were disappointed an itty bitty bit by da "storm" we got today.  Nothin' like that crazy Halloween Blizzard I know we all remember.

Anyway.... Chip surprised me with a perfect cold-day gift for our walk.

Maybe you don't know what this heart-patterned knit love gift is.... it's a SMITTEN MITTEN.  (Here's another one if you're interested, but ours was homemade so you can't buy 'em this great.  But heck - if I knew how to knit I'd want to make one for everyone I knew!!)

First of all IT IS SO CUTE!!!  It was such a neat-o surprise... dat CHIP, he sure is SOMETHIN.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, BLOG-O WORLD!!

Monster JAM!!

Let's just say: Chip and I tried somethin' new last night.  Y'know dose crazy commercials they have for Monster Jam?  Well Chip saw one a surprised me with tickets to my very first Monster Jam.  It was really a TREAT!

It was super loud dare.  Chip had his earplugs in but I just have a heckuva time wit dose so I borrowed his hard hat with ear muffs on it.  Kept de ol' ears safe and I'd be protected if anything were to fly to da ol' noggin!!

 Dose trucks sure were neat!

And here's da happy couple.  Like our shirts?  Mine is puffy and has some REAL NICE birds on it.  Chip has some real nice deer, too. But not puffy paint for him!

We had a real neat time.  Do you have any other ideas of places Chip and I would like??  Let us know!

Starting the Blogging Dontchya Know

So.... Chip and I have been having lots of fun with da digital camera y'know.  It's such a treat to take all the pictures we want and not worry about dat film.  But we take so many darn pictures that we just don't know what to do!!!  Everyone's been talkin' about the blogging so we thought we'd give it a shot.

I'll have our first post be a lil' "Blast from the Past."  Da first time we sent out our Christmas card, we took pictures with ol' Dora.  Here are some of those pictures dat you've maybe not seen yet!  Enjoy!!

Aaah, shucks!  We look so young!
